Hey guys,

so my Garf Bonsi colony has 3 small white patches on it's main trunk. Now keep in mind that it survived one of my major tank crashes , so it's one hardy coral. I did a 45 percent water change today, and the garf was out of water for about 5 minutes. In the meantime I made sure to take the turkey baster and slowly drip some of the tank water on the coral to keep it wet. I'm worried that the whole colony is going to go down the tubes. Any advice is welcome thanks.

It's definitely not growth, it's under several of the main branches. And it's not flatworms because I'm not having problems with any of my other 20 arcos.

I'm not concerned about AFEW,because I haven't added anything new to my DT since my mandrin dragonet 3 months ago. And it's been fine since yesterday's waterchange.

Could be a form of STN. I had a bit pop up on a really hardy ORA piece and I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Started as a white spot on underside. At first I thought it was prolonged lack of light (dont know why I have I thought this because it never happened to other acros this way) until it spread to well lit branches. Then it was frag time and haven't had problems since.

Same thing happened to me and after much denial and many many close looks , I HAVE RED BUGS! I'm not saying you don't but in my case every coral was fine except one coral and then slowly the others went under attack. I killed the bugs yesterday

I had the same thing and it turned out to be a bug problem for me. Possibly the coral was stressed from the water change and the bugs were able to get at it while it was stressed. If the garf can easily be removed I would do a Bayer dip and get out magnifying glass, in my experience I have never seen adverse effects from bayer dips on sps so it wont hurt. Good luck

Hey guys,

Thanks for all of the amazing advice, it turns out that I just had a minor alk swing. I'm happy to report, that all of the corals are fine for now.(With the exception of some minor browning) Thanks for all of the help everyone.
