Gary's dead....RIP

Gary... A huge turbo snail (black/wite zibra color) died today. I've had him for 4 years. He was a beast.

He was on his back a few days ago so I flipped him back over and he went on his way. I found him today and he was a gonner.

My water par. are fine. Nothing new added to tank.

Do these snails just die of old age?

They do, and you don't know how old he was when you got him. Ceriths for example can be long or short lived. Some live less than a year.

I'm so sorry. It's obvious Gary was loved.

as much as you can love a snail . I won't have to be reattaching corals anymore as he was great at plowing them over.
