Just noticed today that my Mulleri Butterfly has developed a small bubble over the iris of its right eye. The eye itself is not protruding. It's behavior has changed though from that of a curious, free swimming water puppy to a hovering introvert that is nearly unresposive to external stimuli (any movement outside of the tank). I suspect the issue was caused by some kind of injury as the fish seems in otherwise excellent health and has been with me for over a year. My question is: Is this likely to go away on it's own (as it showed up) or should I take action? What would you do?

Can you post a photo? It sounds like Popeye caused due to injury. But I want to be sure it's not a "true" gas bubble caused by supersaturated gases in the bloodstream.

Interesting read. Though there was absolutely no temperature fluctuation in this tank and the fish was fine as of yesterday evening. Hopefully, he still has his appitite. Tonight is live blackworm night and he's NEVER not gone nuts for live blackworms.
