GatorScott's Biocube32

Beautiful tank! How do you like the random flow generator? I'm thinking about getting one, worth the money?

Love it. I was able to free up space with the upgrade to the Sicce 1.5 return pump and RFG and get rid of my power head.

Update:

Had a heater malfunction(stuck on 98*) last year that killed quite a few corals. Very depressing as I had really nice growth. But some how my Nems and fish made it thru. Starting to look like a reef again. I am proud of my 2yr old Clowns. First fish I’ve ever bought still alive!!

Haven’t posted a pic in awhile. Not really much to update other than a little rearranging. I had a major algae flair up out of nowhere but since have have cleaned it up.

Also added a Icecap gyre 1k. Prob the best addition I’ve made. The corals seem to love it.

That cube looks great!

Thanks. Another member messaged for my lightning schedule with Steve’s so I figure I’ll post it here as well for everyone.

Ok so my schedule is as follows:

Day setting:
Ch1- 3535
Ch2- 0770
Ch3- 3533
Ch4- 0770

Night setting:
Ch1- 0010

Sunrise mode set to manual(obviously you have to have the correct time programmed in the part where you set the actual date and time)

Sunrise 08:00 manual

Sunset 22:00 manual

Ramp time 180 min

Anything not listed is either off or set to zero.

What controller do you have with your Steve's LED's?

What controller are you using? I have the hurricane x and from what I understand from @Steves LEDs only channel 1& 2 are active, 3 & 4 are non active channels. I'm not sure if that is the same for the bluefish controller. I'm curious if I misunderstood the info I was provided.

I have the hurricane x controller. Channels 1&3 are for blues and 2&4 are for whites.

So believe it or not, I don’t test my water except for salinity the majority of the time(unless something looks off). I do not have SPS(only LPS, soft coral and nems)and I do regular water changes with Fritz 5g at a time which is about 20% for my volume. That being said I tested my nitrates for the first time in about 6months yesterday and I’m a 5ppm. Just putting it in here for reference since I do not test often.

Hi!
I know it is been a while since your last post in this thread, but I saw a picture you posted of this tank and I just had to look at your build thread. I have a 29 gallon biocube and I was thinking about upgrading lights. How is this tank going with the Steve's lights? Do you think it was worth the change?
Thank you

Sorry to reply so late, but yes Steves is a great high end upgrade That allows you to retain the lid which is what drew me in. I personally like the BC with the lid. Lights still going strong, I did have to replace the bio cube clear lense recently after 5 years of leds cooking it, but Steves sells a kit on his website for cheap thaat worked great.
