Ok, I had 2 lg chromis. Also have 2 gbta and a rbta. All have lived harmoniously for months. I came home from work tonight to find one of my chromis half in one of my gbta. The head half hanging out. I don't think the gbta was big enough to consume it. The half hanging out was cloudy looking like fungus. Still breathing and sadly trying weakly to wiggle its tail. Eventually it broke free but too late. It did not make it. I had left 6 hours earlier and he was swimming with his buddy. Perfectly fine. No cloudyness. So I know it was not sick. Its appearence must have been from being stung. my question is how did the gbta get ahold of it? The chromis was big enough that I don't think brushing against it would have done it. The only thing that makes sense is if it swam into the center of the gbta head first. It would have had to happen just right for that gbta to keep hold of it. But it was hanging out head first. Tail inside. I don't get it. The head was all discolored like it got stung though. Weird. Any thoughts? Here are some pics to help you see. The gbta is in the upper right corner behind the return spout. The chromis pretty much eclipses it. As far as size.
