Gem tang not eating!!!

Did you try rubberbanding the algae to a small rock...my purple wouldnt eat when i first got him. Making the algae more natural.seemed to work.

Just your average steamer clams from the grocery store or your local seafood market. I've used both little necks and the large hardshell ones though the latter are easiest to feed if you slice thin pieces off while it's still frozen. The little necks I just pull from the freezer, break in half and toss them in...

Another thing that fish can't resist is ROE. It might be too early in the season to find easily, but if you go to a fish market and ask they might have some. Can be kind of expensive, at least around me it is... considered a delicacy. But, a gem tang is not a cheap fish ;)

So haw did your Gem tang do? Still with us and doing well?
