Moved all my live rock and fish, as well as seeded biomedia to a new tank. Water got really cloudy after the first 12-24 hours or so, and all of the fish are super happy except my gem tang, who is pictured. Does anyone have any idea of what this could be?

Very hard to see ick and sometimes velvet due to the gem tangs color pattern if all the other fish look fine. I can currently a bacterial infection on this fish now there are two types of bacterial infections one being Gram negative infections which act fast and usually kill the fish within the first 24 hours the other would be gram positive infections which take longer to kill. I would treat by combining Kanaplex, Furan 2 and Metroplex all antibiotics that cure both of these types of infections. Its hard to tell if the infection is positive or negative either way I recommend treating ASAP all this antibiotics can be found at your lfs and petco.

Appears to be a bacterial issue. Firsthand, I would look at water quality and review diet. If water conditions are poor enough, the bacteria can bloom and overrun even the healthiest of fish. Some typical causes are :
  • Poor nutrition.
  • Injury, such as open wounds, cuts or scrapes.
  • Other fish annoying him
  • Stress
  • Weakness
  • Introduced into the aquarium through a contaminated water source
Many bacteria are naturally resistant to specific drugs, so using the proper type of antibiotic is of the utmost importance. For example, gram-positive bacteria are often unaffected by tetracycline and streptomycin, while gram-negative bacteria may be unaffected by ampicillin, penicillin, erythromycin, and sulfa drugs. Sometimes all the vitamins, proper nutrition and clean water are just not enough. Sometimes a fish’s natural immune system needs a helping hand.
A 90minute bath with ruby rally pro will probably be a good start followed by QT and treatment with maracyn 2.
Its important to remember that every medication you use depletes the water of oxygen so adding an airstone for gas exchange would also be recommended

Foods:
Spirulina brine shrimp
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
LRS Herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
Hikari Marine cuisine
Hikari Mega marine algae
Mysis shrimp
small plankton

Add selcon vitamins to the food 2-3X per week and garlic extract on alternating days for immunity system health and overall stamina

When doing a bath in ruby rally pro, what's the proper methodology? Does it need to be heated? Aerated?
