Gem tang with black streak in tail.

So recently bought one of my clients a gem tang, today while cleaning his tank i noticed it had a black streak down his tail. Ive never seen or heard of this. Tried Google, its just showing me pictures of the hybrid with a total black tail and normal gems. Ill post a few pictures let me know what you think.

I seem to think someone else posted a thread about the same thing a couple months ago on a Gem Tang. I want to say it wasn’t a big deal.

The real question should be what is with the helmet in the reef? If you are going for reality then put a plastic six pack holder in their and take the helmet out.

It could possibly be a sting. If it seems unaffected I probably wouldn’t worry gem tangs are tough as nails.

Happened to my gem (and I have a thread here somewhere). Appeared one day, lasted about a week, then vanished. No change in behavior, no other observable changes. Who knows!

I don't know about your gem tang but I want the Helmet.. Love the Eagles... Please how did you do that or buy it? Is there a service out there? Please reply back.... So awesome.... Maybe a Phillies helmet too?

Could be that he doesn't like the team or ticked off that they lost a game and threw it into the ocean. Only to wake up the next morning in a haze of bong smoke to realize that they threw it into the aquarium instead of said ocean...

Maybe it was your thread I saw about the same thing. I knew I had read about this before.

Looks like a harmless aberrant colouration that may change over time.

Didnt have any newer full tanks shots ill be there next week and try and throw one up. And ill update everyone on the tang also thanks for all feedback.
