So I really want a Gem tang, BADLY. People are saying 3k in Canada, i see a lot in the states under $1000, so even after exchange rates, I’m still way under 3k....

Is there any one who is able to ship a gem tang to me in the new year? Preferably quarantined. Asking a lot I know... but, I may as well get what I want in my tank.

I know Alaska Coral and Fish had one before but I am not sure if they have any as of now. I know they ship coral so that is why I mentioned it. You can try and call them

I think they are really cool but my wife laughs at me and says they look like they have ich! Hahaha

Good luck on the transport of that beautiful fish I wish you the best!

Yeah, the problem is shipping from US to Canada...

I'll have to dig around but there was one dealer (In the US) who does QT and can ship directly to airports for pickup. I'd say they are your best bet from going from the US to Canada.

You are a hero. If and when you find out, shoot me a message! This will be my only tang in my tank for a while, along with 5 anthias, and a few small fish (gobies, mandarin etc)

Shipping a fish from the US to Canada isn't quite that simple, if everyone is playing by the rules. Since it's an export/import, you'll have to go through the CAN equivalent of Fish & Wildlife Services. There's permits to apply for and fees to pay. You might find a broker willing to do the leg work for you, but it will come at an additional price.

Yeah. That’s the unfortunate part. I may have a line on a gem tang in Canada BUT I don’t want to deal with the QT as I fail at that and would probably kill it.

Send Aqua Locker a email and ask them. They have three stages of QT on their site.

Please note that I've not purchased from them but have exchanged emails with them as well as posts here. I can't say they may be able to help but if you call at least you will get some information. Not knowing where you live or how close you could always take a drive.

Gems in the states can be readily found now for $450 US. Average price on portals such as LA/DD $700 - $800.

Hey did you ever manage to get your hands on one? I have one for sale that is around 5/6 inches in Toronto.

No I did not.

Have you spoken with Elliot at Marine collectors? I believe he may ship to an airport. So you would have to pick it up directly from customs but worth a shot? HA! I just saw this thread and am answering now, talk about a late response ;Facepalm

Cheapest I found was candy corals for $1300

That's not too bad actually, you should send Afnan an email and see if he can track another one down for the same price.

He had a Hybrid Achillies for sale a month orso ago I wanted SOOOOO badly!! It was $1200
