Gem Tang's nose turning pale

At first I though it was just a bump on its nose from picking at the rock. Today the white area is growing. Any suggestions on what it might be and

best action for a cure?

Consider adding Beta Glucan to its food. It tremendously boost the fish's immune system. The one I like is algae based:

How fast is it progressing? Certainly could be the beginnings of HLLE, though nose/snout generally isn't where it starts. Could also be bacterial, fungal or just some skin damage. Faster progression mean less likely to be HLLE.
