Setting up a qt for deworming and dosed a cup of bottled bacteria. will be using general cure in the water column for external flukes and such. would this have a affect on the bottled bacteria I dosed? should I wait a few days first?

Thanks in advance

General Cure has Praziquantel and Metronidazole in it. Praziquantel has no detrimental effect on nitrifying bacteria. Metronidazole can inhibit anaerobic bacteria, but I don't know about aerobic nitrifying bacteria.

While I don't think that GC will harm the bacteria, I always suggest that using these products is tenuous at best - a good solid cycle being established is always best. Be sure to closely monitor the ammonia levels.

I use sponge filters left in sumps to serve as bio filters in QTs when I need them.
