I need to treat a rescue ocellaris, but only have a 5g qt. I have general cure packets, could I split the packet in half (using a food scale)? Would the whole dose be too much in 5g?

You would want to split the packet exactly in half. Dosing a 5g tank with a 10g packet would likely be enough of an overdose to be toxic.

I use a cheap 20 dollar jewelry scale from Amazon for situations like this.

Not sure its an option for you but.....If you have a petco nearby, you can get a 10 gallon for $10 ;Greedy Limited time offer.

Thanks, I have a 10g in the garage somewhere, but didn't have time to search and clean. Splitting the dose isn't that big of a deal, just wanted to make sure there were no issues. Thanks again for the tip. Cheers!
