Hello for years I have used tap water with prime to remove the chemicals. Anyway I recently got a hanna tester and it is showing the water with a .1 or so copper readings. I don't have the space for a RODI at the moment. Is this a concern? I recently had an outbreak and in my QT tank I got to testing and I am puzzled. Does tap water contain copper or is the tester wrong? Will this be an issue going forward and for mixing medicines etc.

Tap ater might or might not have copper in it and it may come from your plumbing. I would get another tester and/or an ICP. At .1 mg/l your risking corals and inverts.

I would look at your local water parameters first. You can Google it and find it. It should show what they are introducing and what is present in the water table. When you say .1, are you getting .1 or .01? At .1, it is a concern.

I will always recommend a RO/DI system. The BRS units come with a fitting that will allow you to attach it to the faucet when needed and remove it afterward. I am sure others will allow you to do this as well.

Years ago Plumbing to most homes require copper piping, I can say that.... 99% of any tap water will contain copper, (even in a new house with plastic poly pipe fittings) imagine how many areas your tap water has to go through from water station to hitting your tap, we don't even drink tap water in our house
