So I recently upgraded to an elos 70 and I went for open rock work.

I want to figure out what fish to get for my tank. I'm going to buy all juveniles* and don't mind having them for a year and then passing them on to one of my friends tanks. All of my friends have much larger tanks. I would love to own various species over the next few years.
450+ gallon Dt
90 gallon cube
300 gallon deep dimension
And another friend is upgrading to a deep dimension 200.

With that said, My tanks Sps dominated. So i definitely want to keep my water clean but at the same time i definitely want to enjoy some of the fish i never could. I will maintain water quality one way or another, I know how to run a successful tank and don't plan on adding everything all at once so ill see how the tank adjusts to additions before going ahead.

I currently have a pair of full grown mated fire fish, a cleaner shrimp, a nano blue shrimp, a brittle star, and conch.

I haven't really researched or learned much about fish, I've alway focused on nano species. I really do love the look of a heavy populated tank with water column swimmers..(who doesn't)

What would be some good additions for color and water column swimmers?

All fish will be qt'ed before adding..

I like the following.,

Onyx or snowflake pair of clowns

A pair of Anthias, (do you need a trio?, most tanks seem to have a trio, which species?

1 Juvenile Tang - I really want a powder blue but repeatedly see problems with them, would a Purple Tang be a better choice?

Wrasse - Mystery wrasse, Leopard (another trouble fish)

Baslet - Candy, Swalesi, Cave - a lot of hiders

A Midas blenny.

Onyx or snowflake pair of clowns - GO FOR IT. clowns are always good.

A pair of Anthias, (do you need a trio?, most tanks seem to have a trio, which species? Get at least a trio. buy them as all females at once or two females and a male. choose of your liking. I have a male lyretail in need of a harem currently.

1 Juvenile Tang - I really want a powder blue but repeatedly see problems with them, would a Purple Tang be a better choice? Purple tang will be a bully. In fact, most tangs can be bullies. they are not as high strung as the powder blues. that said, make sure your tank is at least 4' long to have one. any shorter and you are not doing them justice as they love to swim. I have a naso and an atlantic blue. the blue is a downright bully, the naso is not.

Wrasse - Mystery wrasse, Leopard (another trouble fish) ONLY if you have a screen or tight fitting lid. wrasses will jump. a melanarus is a very good one to have. very peaceful and colorful IMO.

Baslet - Candy, Swalesi, Cave - a lot of hiders

A Midas blenny.
