There are a number that would work - not sure whats available in the UK. There are now battery systems - which can come on automatically and work for a long while. I bought a natural gas generator - had I done more research, I would have gone with a battery powered option.

would this 1 work
https://hyundaipowerequipment.co.uk/hyundai-hy2000si-2016-2kw-inverter-generator or do i need more than 2000w its only to run the tank idc about the fridge or anything else
Seems like it would - Do you have a place where you can run it outside?

PS - in the US - depending on how long your rewiring is going to take - you can rent similar portable generators - as compared to spending that much money - for a new one.

To be certain you know how many watts you need - just add up the wattage of your pump, heater, flow pumps, (lights?) - if it is <2000 - you're good to go.

I'll just put it in the back garden yea i think you can rent in the uk too i just don't know how long they are going to be with it + its always good to have for emergency's

PS - One other thought - is the noise level - and how close your neighbors are. If the electricity is going to be out for 2 weeks - having a generator running 24/7 might make you a little unpopular. When we have outages (perhaps once/month) - and our generator kicks in - we always get comments 1) - it must be nice to have your house powered and 2) - that thing makes a lot of noise.

The one you picked - seems 'small' - and hopefully not too loud - but it is something to consider (also any local rules about noise at night, etc)

You could probably get by on 1000 W. Fridges have a high startup surge but a generator that can sustain 1000W can surge to ~1600W.

I had an outage last month and ran a mini fridge, large chest freezer, and my tank's pumps and heaters on a 1000W inverter attached to my car (hybrid so the gas engine only fired up periodically).

Do they sell Champion Inverters in the UK, make sure to get an inverter not a construction grade generator.
