Just bought a generator about a month and a half ago after a short power outage got me nervous.
With the high winds, SDG&E shut off off power in my area of San Diego this morning at 1:45 am. Thankfully they sent email notifications before I went to bed to imform us the power would probably be shut off sometime during the night. Set alarm for 3 1/2 hours after I went to bed to check and sure enough it was out. Fired up generator and tank is running along happily. Not sure how tank would have fared 12 plus hours (power still out) with no power.
Glad I broke down and finally bought one and none too soon. Definitely a worthy investment that has already paid for itself.
With the craziness in California, generators are becoming a required piece of equipment.
