The story starts like this

I talk to guy on here that's really cool. He knows I'm into breeding clowns and asks me if I was interested in a snowflake female that just lost her mate. She is a beautiful specimen he states and of course I'm all ears. He lets me know that she is very difficult to pair. He describes her and it's as if he was talking about my old female from tmc in Europe. We talk back and forth for a few days and he come to a deal if you want to call it that.
He sends me the fish, to pair and try to start breeding. He does not ask me for a single dime, not even for the shipping. As you can see why I said "a deal if you want to call it that". To me it was an amazing act of generosity on his part.

March 6th he ships the fish to me
She arrives perfectly
Almost eating out of the bag, can't ask for anymore than that.
She is about 3" which would be the size needed for a female to start breeding.
I get her acclimated and all is well

March
It just so happened that I had a ww/occ hatch that was a few months old(if I remember about 6 or 7 months). So my thoughts were to start the pairing process right away. I figured the longer I waited the less likely she would take to a male in "her" home. So I added the male and there was a little squabbling but nothing to write home about. I kept a eye out for any ripped or shredded fins. After a week they were swimming around like they were a match made in heaven. For about a month or so they just really swam together but that was it. Never any twitching but there was definitely no aggression.

April
Still no change just hanging out in there home and being clowns

May
It seems like they have caught spring fever. The male and the female has started to clean the tile house that they live in. No eggs but a little more action than they have showed before. I start to notice the female is getting hacker also.

June
Still no eggs yet but she is filling in nicely and boh the female and the male are cleaning the same spot.

I will update with photos as the time goes by but I just wanted to say thank you hui

Great story, I have found that the people in this hobby are some of the most generous people that I have come across. Hopefully things continue to go well for the snowflake and her new mate. Look forward to hearing updates on how things go.

That is a really great story and a really nice person to just give out a snowflake like that

I am glad that our project is a GO!!! Can't wait to see my babe to be a Ma.

Male is a cross between my whyoming white and a wild occelaris. He has perfect lines and shape. Since he was mixed it will be like starting with a f1 fish instead of a f? Fish

Now, I really miss her after seeing these pics. I could stil how she would non stop biting me every time I put my hand inside the tank. I am glad she is doing well with your male clown. The male really has beautiful lines. I am sure their offsprings will be awesome looking....can't wait!!

Great story!!! Love how the two of you are so generous!! I see someone receiving some special clown gifts when babies are big enough!!

If this project goes well. I will ship u my male onyx Picasso that I have told u before to pair with your c-quest onyx female. Soon, we can see more onyx Picasso going around in this hobby..

This it's what my snowcasso pair produces now. It will be hard to beat but I'm always up for a gold old fashioned experiment

Ok, I am totally speechless. Now, I really want a pair of that cow-like Picasso......lol

That was a real cool one. I think the female you sent me will produce some real nice ones in the occ genus just as my percs do. For the trust you have put in me and my ability that will be the least I can do for you.

Great story! I feel that we should be hearing this more often. She is a beautiful female! :)
