Tripod, flash, and a macro lens. I am still working on my skills though now that I have the equipment.

Post processing! I shoot in RAW and for the flash images that appear yellow, I pull the color back towards blue for a more realistic color using Photoshop.

I do the same. Do you use TTL or manual?

Depends on the type of shot, but usually TTL if I'm using a diffuser (ringflash as well) and manual when I hold the flash off to the side using a hotshoe cable.
