Hi All,
Setting up a new tank and I am leaning towards a T5 hybrid lighting system. Problem is that the lights are either on or off, no middle ground.
Silly question, but will it startle the fish to just have light turned on suddenly like that? It is moving towards fall here in the midwest so still pretty dark in the mornings and the lights would go from nothing to full blast on them.
I assume this is just how it is but looking for what others have done or maybe I am overthinking this a bit.
Or maybe it is nightmares of how my mom used to wake me up for school by flipping on my light.
Thanks!

I am planning on adding the LED a little bit down the road when I start adding corals. I have a light on my current tank that will be too large for my new one and I don’t want to pick the wrong light a 2nd time.
