Get what size t5 fixture for 60" tank

It doesn't really matter much. The 48" would work just fine if you wanted to save a few bucks. I have friends who have the 60" on a 72" tank and it doesn't look bad at all. The concept would be the same for a 48" on a 60" tank. Once you make the decision you can't really undo it without it costing a few bucks, though!

One question I have not seen asked of yet is what corals do you plan on keeping in the tank? That should help in making the decision, you need to cover all your bases. What bulb combination you are planing on using so you can get baseline on the par ratings? I would do alot of research especially making a purchase that large.
did you center them?
maybe you can go back and offset the bulbs and not center them. put one to the left side and the next one to the right side. when i thought about doing 48 on my current tank that was my thought and you will be a better spread of light over all form end to end.

Yes its centered but its a ATI fixture so no way to off set them. Dont get me wrong it does good but I dont like to be limited to what I can do. I also got it because the 60 was a extra $150 just for shipping no including the extra for the cost of fixture.
I went ahead and got the 48 but it wont be long Ill be getting a new tank and doing a 54" tank so it will work in the end

sunlight tek lights are out with a new 60" fixture. retail prices are as follows
60" x 4 bulb $395
60" x 6 bulb $519
60" x 8 bulb $619
of course you have to pay extra for bulbs. which retail $26-$33 as the only choice is giesemann.

save yourself the time and trouble and go with the 60 last thing you want to do is wish you went bigger and spend double when you could have done it right in the first place.

well when you have a fixure like that ya, you are stuck centering it. i like DIY my self. i just didnt see cost of spending more for the 60. not as common. i havent looked into it but the cost per bulb maybe more and you may be limited on bulb choices.
