Getting a 1” BTA -where do I put it?

So I ordered a larger BTA and they were offering this really cool looking one but it’s only about 1 inch big.

I’m not sure where to put it. Wouldn’t feel comfortable putting it on the rocks.

Acclimation box?

Suggestions?

The acclimation box is probably a safe bet, make sure to put some rubble in there for it to attach its foot to. Once it looks happy, place it on your rock scape and it will tell you where it wants to be. Good luck!

The acclimation box is a safe place. Placing it on the rock is a 50/50. If you know what conditions they like, you might hit the nail on the head and it will stay in the same place. Or it will hate the spot and move around. What’s the point of buying a beautiful nem if you’re just going to put it in a tiny box on the side of the tank though?

I was assuming the OP was afraid that the nem might be stressed and not securely attach its foot right away and then get blown around the tank. I could be wrong. If you do want to put it straight on the rock scape, just make sure to turn the flow down to give it a chance to settle initially. Either way, good luck.

Hi all,
I have a similar question here...

I bought a couple RBTA but when they arrived I realized they are just about 1 inch when extended; I have them in an acclimation box. My concern to put them in the tank is they might be too small and the clowns might stress them and died. Any thoughts?

Also, I don't have rock or rubble in the acclimation box; but they seem firmly attached. Do I still need to add rubble or small rocks?

+1 on acclimation box with gravel. I would place the box at the bottom of the tank in an area with medium flow & light to acclimate to your water parameters first, so it doesn’t tumble around & float onto a powerhead or overflow. It will probably secure its foot inside the box first & then decide to climb out of the box, begin to search for a location it likes & secure itself on a rock, most likely in the upper half with good flow & lighting. From my experience, it all depends on the nems, some tend to gravitate to areas where there’s turbulent flow & I’ve had nems that have liked dead spots with descent lighting, it’s the reason I use for starting it at the bottom, front & center. That’s my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

Acclimation box then tank. Make sure your propellers are covered maximumly lol. I know it's not a word but worthy of mention as I've lost my inferno to my tunze

Any thoughts regarding the anemones being too small for the clowns?
I really don't want the clown to stress them or tear them apart.
