I ended up with 2 too many clown fish in one tank. I thought the size of the tank would be ample room, again the maroon clown proved me wrong. She is now living in my sump, with rocks, rubble, light, and a big fat leather toadstool. The other small clown is in the tank with 2 others. They are both keeping him out of the anemone, but I have 2 huge toadstools and he/she won't touch them. Appetite is great, swims a lot, I think it likes swimming in my Tunze current. I'm starting to feel bad for the little clown though. I don't want 2 anemones in one tank, the tank is only a 180 and the rose anemone I have in there now is pretty large (little bigger than a cake plate) The other 2 clowns have claimed it. Are there any other inexpensive corals I can get this little guy to maybe host in? Its a true percula clownfish, I don't think the other 2 are. I'm looking for a new home for the XL maroon down in my sump. Thanks

There's nothing you can do. They will host in whatever they want. It would be a waste of money to try and buy something thinking a clown will host in it. Not the answer you're looking for, but it's the way it is.

I don't think there is anything you can really do to get them to host. Just time give them there space and time. We heard you can take pictures of a clown in an anemone and tape it to the side of the tank and people say it works but never tried it yet. Sounds crazy but heard good success with it.
