Hi all. I have. 4" maxima clam attached to a large rock. It has bubble algae on it. I wanted to move the clam only and leave the rock behind. Anyone know how to get the clam to detach itself from rock. I don't want to damage his foot. Thanks

You can put a power head on it and see if it'll detach on it's own and try to move. I did this with a Crocea about the same size but it didn't work. I ended up having to use an exact-o knive to cut the attachment material as close to the rock as possible. If the foot is not actually attached it's really easy. I've heard that cutting the foot as close the rock as possible is also an option but I wouldn't do that unless it's an emergency.
