I realize I may be writing this thread after I've already solved my problem, but I wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
I bought an Ironman Mushroom from my LFS today. I've had mushrooms before, mostly Ricordea and I'd never had a problem with them. I don't expect to have a problem with this one...BUT I also didn't expect this mushroom to not come on anything solid I could glue down.
Upon reading about it, this appears to be pretty normal. They sorta foot themselves down like a nem might. So I googled it, and realizing that I don't have any mesh or anything in the house I took one of the "specimen" jars the coral came in, drilled it full of holes and put some small rubble in it. Making a DIY mushroom box type thing.... Am I on the right track? It seems to be settling in and opening it, before it was just tumbling about the tank.
I figure one it roots down I'll place the rock it's on somewhere.
Please let me know if I am missing some key parts of the "shroom taming" equation.
