So, I currently have a 60g tank, I have the ability to move to a larger tank. I am struggling between a 135g custom tank or a 180g custom tank. Can anyone share any tips or advice which size I should choose? I plan on doing a complete walk-through my journey from the 60g to whatever size.

Have you looked at these yet?

They have those sizes and larger ones [emoji4]

Great quality and don’t have the super high cost of a custom builder. Also their quality is amazing! I have one of their 135.4g tanks.

Yes, I've looked into them and I prefer doing my custom. I am leaning towards a 180g tank as we have the space for it and the wife said yes. I am looking forward to piecing it all together as im picky as to what i want I.E. skimmer, lights, overflows. I'm sure you already know the list. We want it personalized just to our liking. With all of that being said, how do you like maintaining a larger tank? This will be our first major tank size

Maintaining it as far as water quality is much easier.

Things you might not think of...

You’ll need more available water ie.... topoff, etc.

It takes basically more of everything. More rock, more coral, more fish, more cuc...

Also a larger tank takes a bigger skimmer, more/bigger lights etc.

Overall if these budgetary items are not an issue then you’ll love going bigger!! [emoji4]lol

Not that they aren't an issue, money is an object for me. But we are blessed enough where it would only take about three months with everything added in. Main concern is really if it's worth going that much bigger.
