What can I do to persuade a nem to stay where he is? Put him on top of an island?

Is there a shape they like to sit on?

What else? Thanks!

They search for the light and flow they like. They can stay put for months.... then one day decide to go on a walk about. If you unlock the riddle you will be a very popular reefer.

+1 and provide a good spot for them to anchor their foot.

Are there certain shapes in rock they like to anchor their feet to? Like a little hole or indentation?

The short answer is you can’t.
it’s an animal and will move when it wants for any number of reasons, or for no reason at all.

it’s just a risk you take with keeping nems

Right?! I was thinking the same thing

Different anemone species like different condition. You cannot glue the anemone in place so you just have to provide the condition it like.

One line this, which kind is it and what conditions does it like to stay still? Sorry for poor pic. @OrionN

I am sorry but the picture is not clear enough for me to determine the species. It is either a Magnfica or a BTA. Better picture of the anemone. Clear picture of the column, the tentacles and of the mouth is needed to tell between the two species.

I have had mine(bubble tip) for about a month so I am no expert. But an observation with mine, i put it in an area with good ebbing flow but all indirect and in an area with good light but with an indent it can shrink into and get out of the light. I initially placed it close to where it ended up, it walked about 2 inches up the rock and has it's foot in bigger crevasse. It seems really happy there....so far. My build thread has pics.
