Getting back in (hello Huntsville!)

Hey guys,

I've been out of the reefing scene for about 5 years and am considering getting back in. Just moved to Huntsville and am trying to scope out the LFS's. Where are some of the best places for me to check out (maybe within a 2 hour radius) hardware and livestock? Anyhow, looking forward to participating in the forum and meeting some of you.

Welcome to the Rocket City, R2R, and your return to reefing. We have a very loosely organized bunch of people we call NARC (North Alabama Reef Club). Every once in a while we have a meeting as somebody's house to drool over their reefs. But the real reason for NARC meetings is the food! Some of us have no idea how to maintain a reef tank but you wouldn't believe how well we can cook. :dribble:

J/K, there are several very active reefkeepers in the North Alabama area. As far as stores, there are the Aquarium Shop and Paradise Aquatics in town. Then there's Mike and Dani that have some good deals on a lot of things that we use. Also Jason and Tammy down in Cullman have livestock and can order you whatever you want. As far as frags, a few of us here have frags for sale at very reasonable prices.

Keep watching this forum. I'm sure others will speak up. Most of all, you have really done yourself a favor by finding R2R, the most friendly reefing forum on the net! :byebye:

H@rry don't forget to mention that you have a pretty awesome setup and some great corals too! Mark in Trussville has some pretty nice stuff if you ever get to that area. If you ever get to Montgomery there are several places to visit too.

Thanks everyone. I'll try to meet up with some of you in the coming weeks...trying to get settled at my job at the moment. Is there any place around that has a good stock of tanks? I haven't decided what I want just yet...may have to have something made and/or shipped.

What sized tank are you looking for? There are several for sale on these forums as well as Craigslist.

BTW, I like your avator of Giorgio. I always like his hair; been thinkin' bout trying that myself.
