Hello Everyone,
After a 12 year hiatus I’m finally getting back into the hobby. Much has changed since I last had a reef tank.

I decided to make it easy and come back in style. So i went with a Red Sea Max 260E. I think eventually I might go for the sump upgrade, but will stick with the stock tank for now.

Finally got it cycled, aquascaped, and added two clowns. So far so good.

Any advice you all can provide with regards to light setting, Quieting down the skimmer, or any other tweaks to get the most out of this tank I would appreciate. Or any mistakes to avoid with this tank would also be appreciated.

Thanks for all the advice in advance.

Gerry

Welcome to R2R and your new reefing family. Great choice of tanks to get back in to the hobby...the RS Reefers are really good looking tanks.

It's time to dust off those aquarium skills! We're glad you're here!

I have the same tank - been up for 1 year now and I love it. I haven't done the sump upgrade yet, but Ive had good growth on the frags Ive placed in so will likely upgrade that this year. Mine is pretty quiet, I didn't have any issues with keeping the skimmer quiet. I did have an issue with one of the flow pumps not coming back on after initiating a feeding cycle, but red sea was quick to replace for me. Ill get a pic when the lights are ramped up.
