I haven't had a legitimate tank since 2012. My old tank thread is listed below. It's been so long I forget my password to my original account, don't have access to the email account associated with that account, Apex controllers were $500 and now they are $800 offer wifi and come with more probes (yay!), and BRS seems to have stopped selling their own rock (not so yay). I am looking into something low key and easy to manage while only minimally breaking the bank. This has led me to the IM 25 gallon lagoon. I love the footprint and there seem to be a reasonable number of accessories for it. I have a lot of questions, what is the newest tech for lighting? Is PAR (photo-synthetically available radiation or PUR (photo-synthetically useable radiation) what I should go for now? I remember this was a debate in 2012. What are the quality wave makers that don't break the bank? Any suggestions on skimmers? Are biopellets still popular for a low nutrient system or is there something new when it comes to filtration? What is the 'best' dry rock brand to use? BRS seems to have switched to all Marco and Caribsea. Most importantly, Does JoshPorkSandwich still only sell locally and at swaps?

Well as long as you like them and dont care about trade value then names are irrelevant. Exactly, I'm not in the hobby to say I have blah blah blah, but because I enjoy marine biology and this reminds me of the ocean.
