Hey everyone, just recently decided I wanted to start a new reef tank. I use to have a JBJ 12 gallon nanocube in high school which was a lot of fun. Found this forum not to long ago and have been looking around on here at the different setups. I cant decide what direction I want to go. I recently went to aquatic cove in Madison and looked around at what they had to offer. I saw a 75 gallon setup there that was really nice. just not sure If i want to buy a full set up or drill a tank my self and build a stand. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm probably going to be posting on here a lot, so sorry in advance for all the questions.

Welcome back to the wet side! Ask all the questions you want. I don't believe anyone here is bashful!:)

Welcome back to the hobby and R2R. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. The folks here are very friendly and helpful.

You may want to check Craigslist for a tank. You could save some dollars that way.

Welcome back.

Harry is right, check Craigslist. You can find all kinds of tanks at great deals, especially if you are patient enough. Also depending on what size you want, you may even find an all in one aquarium that has a built-in refugium and skimmer chamber. Or you can check out glass cages. They are somewhat local and have awesome prices.

Thanks for the information. I think I've decided on a JBJ 45 gallon. The only thing is my wife doesn't like that the top is open. Is there anyone that makes a canopy for those tanks? Thanks

You may could get a piece of glass cut for it. My Cardiff is a rimless but it came with little clear plastic lid holders, so the lid is recessed down inside the aquarium. Not sure if the jbj has those or not, but I'm sure a quick Google search can locate you some.
