Getting back into the water

Welcome back! I am looking forward to hearing what you think about that new Loop system!
I'll be sure to let you know. I didn't find a ton of information on it online and I don't have a real big LFS that stocks reef equipment, so it was a bit of a leap of faith.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Haven't even setup the tank and already I am thinking about adding more to it. Looking at the BRS dual reactor to run carbon and GFO. Anyone have any thoughts on how necessary this stuff is? I have the extra plumbing in place from the waterbox to add this without an extra pump.

Hello,
I am getting back into reefing after a 10 year absence. My last tank was also my first tank, a custom 55gal acrylic. Ran it for about 3 years before life got in the way. I tried setting it up once after a series of moves, but it never looked as good as it did when I first set it up. I sold it with all the equipment years ago, so I am starting fresh. I am awaiting a new Waterbox 170.4/5 reef pro. I am sure I will do a build thread when it arrives. Equipment list is as follows:

Lighting, PH, pump:

Current USA Loop Marine Bundle, 48"-60"
includes two lights, two eflux PH at 1050 gph each and eflux DC flow pump at 1900 gph

Skimmer:
Red Sea RSK 300
(Was on the fence about this until I watched the videos from BRS and Saltwateraquariums.com)

Heater:
JBJ True Temp Titanium heater 500w

Sand:
100 lbs CaribSea Special Grade

Rock:
40 lbs. dry base rock
100 lbs. Moani dry live rock

Salt:
FritzPro RPM

Wish me luck. Everything should be in by mid-September. Suggestions are always welcome!

Mike
Good Luck - Life got in the way here as well - Hoping you're very successful with the tank:)
