i also have an other problem .my nitrates read 8 ppm on red sea and it reads 1 ppm on nyos test kit.on api it reads 20 ppm .the phosphate reads .01 ppm on red sea and .10 ppm on hanna checker.from what i been reading none of this accounts for my zoas to close up.this is very frustrating .i think about giving up on nopox - carbon dosing.just do water changes instead .any ideas.

1. There is a margin of error of every test.
2. Some tests are 'easier than others' to do - meaning - more forgiving if you make a mistake - or mis-read the colors - I find the colors on some of the tests to be practically impossible to read. unless they are very high or very low.
3. If you - for example average the 3 nitrate readings - they are close to the 8 ppm on the Red Sea - why are you using multiple tests?

So - are you really asking - why are my zoos closing up? If it would be great if you provided more information (age of tank, other params, pics, any other new 'things 'added (water changes etc) what salt, etc. its unlikely to be the testing you've shown imho - unless something (like no pox) was added suddenly...?

BTW welcome - My suggestion - No offense there is an old saying here its 'hands In tank syndrome' - ie dont chase tests - look at the symptoms first - and what might have causerd them - and then test on that basis - not a shotgun approach: ). I hope things work out,

Welcome to reef to reef.
i dont see anything wrong with those numbers. How long has your tank been set up. Did you dip them. How long have had them.

i have had the zoas for three months now .i did dip them .the tank been up for 10 months now .i just started using red sea pro salt and nopox again.besides the zoas closing up,the protein skimmer is looks like dry skimmer bubbles but i am running wet. the air lines in the skimmer is clear.

what water are you using (RODI?) - what are your other parameters. If you just changed salt - did your parameters change? I would just be patient as long as they dont look 'dead'

How long have zoas been closed. Some of mine will not open for couple days at a time. Have one frag with about 10 on it some will be open and some closed always changing.

i use ro di .my parameters are : ammonia 0 ppm nitrite 0 ppm calcium 400 ppm alk 9 dkh temp 78 ph 8.0 i do a 10% weekly water change.is possible to just do water changes to keep your parameters good.no carbon dosing or a refugium .i think stuff started going bad when i opened a new bottle of nopox.
