While I don't have experience with the X, I can say that the shimmer on the WE is absolutely stunning 
And with the new lense on the X the spread and color blending is suppose to be top notch

There are a handful of reviews around - you just have to look for them. I have no particular preference for the X over the 360WE. Unless the design of the X proves to be more enduring than the WE, which we won’t know for a few years, the premium for the X is not worth it IME. I bought a pair, but as my older WE fail I’ll probably look elsewhere. Shimmer is no different between the two lights.
It is also a point of irritation that I need an additional controller.

There are reviews around but they seem scarce to be honest. There are a lot of unboxing going on with various you tubers and what not but that isn't my sort of thing so expanded the search a bit and found some good posts on them. I also exchanged a few messages on this forum and another to people who has them in their build and are reliable with unbiased feedback. Having said that I have a custom LED setup that works very well over my 210 gallon tank that can punch through the 30" depth pretty well. While the lights work very well my concern is the wire mess that I've been trying to clean up that comes with it and all the aquarium crap we install in our system. Note @ca1ore's point above about the additional controller...
Anyway my point is that I'm in a declutter mode at the moment and taking things offline and adding others to make things neater. I had some gift cards laying around so picked up a a360x myself to see what something off the shelf would do. I have to say it is a pretty good little unit. Well built. Light weight. Solid potentiometers / knobs to adjust. Packaged / boxed extremely well. Bright. Dims down to 0. Few other things but I think you sort of get the idea. It is a pretty well built light that does what it says.
How a single unit can compare to my multi channels is difficult to say. I get just as much shimmer as I see via the Kessil so that isn't here nor there. Both dim to 0. Kessil is 90w each of my chips is 48w and I have 8 of them so I don't expect the Kessil to really compete because it isn't apples to apples design or power wise. They actually complement one another which is what I didn't want to happen. The Kessil unit has a wide spread more so than what I have with mine with the lens. Mine reach better down to the substrate but the Kessil has a wider spread that complements my rock work. It is hard to describe but what the Kessil brings to the table, for me at least, is depth.
I sort of look at it like this. I have a 79" 4K tv in my front room and while I don't have a lot of content for it when I watch a 4K movie I think it looks nice. I can see the difference between a traditional blu ray when playing the same movie in 4K. If I go over to my brother in laws who has a similar sized 4K set but newer that supports UHD and plays the same movie from my plex server, well, the colors and depth look 10 times better. It adds a lot of depth.
That is what the Kessil does. It really manages the color depth well and my corals and rocks appear to contrast or have depth. So much that I'm thinking that I may pick up another pair and putting three of them over my system and take the others offline to use elsewhere. The main issue is no Apex control natively and the extra cost of a controller. Which is what I'm trying to remove...
