Getting new kole tang to eat

In your experience what did you feed your new kole tang to get it to eat? Just curious.

Nori on a clip at all times (so it can ‘discover’ it, and and tiny Brine Shrimp in the water column. (Then it can graduate to Mysis and more when it gets the hang of things.)

Could also try using a rubber band with nori on a rock mine still hardly cares about nori while my other 4 tangs love picking it off the clip

So far mine will only eat reef frenzy. Ignores nori on the clip completely. Going to try Masstick and dried mysis next week.

Nori with garlic on it got mine going for greens. It was already eating frozen at the store.

Brine shrimp with spirulina, Mysis and either krill or clam.
i put all 3 cubes in a shot glass and warm until melted in boiling water.
he should pick out the brine with spirulina then after a couple of days take the Mysis without realising.
nori during the day, if he isn’t getting a look in, cut it up with scissors so it like flake.
platinum flake in the morning.
yes my fish are fat...

Mine took 2 weeks to eat anything I offered it. I had previously let my algae in the tank take over though specifically for this fish. He finally took to my real seafood mix. Mine still doesn’t eat any nori either.

Mine will eat nori on a clip or even free floating in the tank, mysis, brine, bloodworms, etc and even different pellets as they sink like PE Mysis pellets.

Mine is a garbage can now but they do take some time to adjust. I got things started with Masstick that I stuck to a frag plug and dropped at the entrance to his preferred hideout. That allowed him to pick at it throughout the few hours it lasted.

Well, so far I have fed frozen spirulina brine, frozen mysis, and dried brine but has not eaten. He actually hides soon as he sees me. I have seen him picking at the rocks and sand when I’m not in the room though

Mine was like that while he was in quarantine. Soon as he joined other fish, he races to be the first to the food, absolutely anything.

Sounds like your on the right path. I'd go to the grocery store and buy some sheets of sushi nori.

Mine hates nori. Picks at rocks all day but if nori is it only occasionally picks at it.

I find my fish eat better with flow on. They get to chase the food a little bit more naturally. If all else fails try fresh clams

Masstick worked for me. It ate almost nothing for 30 days if anything. Then it ate well and did well for months. Then velvet oh well.

Well no luck eating today but he is definitely swimming around way more and picking at rocks, my clown and McCoskers however are now only hanging at a corner. I’m assuming that they need to get used to each other. Here are some pics
