Getting ready to get my first SW aquarium!

So I have been wanting to switch from freshwater to saltwater for quite some time now. I am planning on keeping my 50 gallon tank I currently have but getting all new equipment. I plan on having coral and fish in the aquarium. The list below is what I plan on getting:

•Marineland Canister Filter C360
•Live Sand
•Live Rock
•2 power head units
•new heater
•new lighting
•skimmer
•any maintenance supplies, etc.

Is there any other equipment that I absolutely need? I also would like to know what you guys might suggest me getting? I am considering a UV Steralizer but not positive on that yet because everyone is either for it or against it, what's your opinion on that? Also, what is some good skimmers you guys might recommend? Like I said, I am new to this so feel free to make any suggestions and or comments!

I would suggest you invest in a good RO/DI unit, good healthy water is key.

You know, I was just looking at those after I posted this! Seems like a good, quick way to get water in the tank as well.

QT tank. You can use your old equipment.

I mean I could get away with using some of my old equipment but I mainly want to upgrade and get better/more reliable equipment.

Oh I get what you mean by QT tank, my bad lol but I don't have room for an extra tank unfortunately.
