Hello everyone....I plan on starting the cycle process this weekend on my 29 gallon BioCube and had some questions...

1. I purchased the media basket from Steve at InTank and also bought the Purigen & Chemi-Pure media, should I use these for the cycling or leave out until I'm actually ready to start stocking the tank? If best to leave out, do I just use some filter floss in the compartment?

2. I'll be using cured Pukani rock and live sand in the tank, do I still need to add a raw shrimp or ghost feed to start the process?

As always, thanks for everyone's help!

I would leave the Chemipure and Purigen out until the tank is completely cycled. You can use some floss in the media basket. Ghost feeding is fine, you'll still need decaying matter to assist in growing the biological filter.

Yes, that's what I would do also.
