Does anyone have any tips on getting rid of a pesky anemone without taking out the rock? I have had a power head blowing on this thing for 3 days now and the stubborn little bugger won't move.

What kind of nem?
is the foot in a hole?

Here are some other ideas.

a very cold spoon has worked before for me. Touch it to the foot and when it starts to release, gently slide the spoon to more and more of the exposed foot until it lets go all the way. This has also not worked before.

Small piece of pipe over the nem. Nem will crawl up the pipe to get light. Has worked before and not worked.

if you can access the foot, an old credit card can also be used to gently, and I mean gently, work at the edge of the foot to loosen it from the rock. This is least preferred when on a rock, as you have to be super careful not to tear the foot.

A pic would help. Need to know the type of nem. If something like aiptasia than I would not be scraping it unless you want many more.

It's a bubble tip and it's in a hole underneath a rock...I'll get a pic later when the lights turn on.

When my nem splits the babies always run because I turn up the flow and mess with them for a few days. Just the constant poking and prodding annoys them to the point of moving. I like the tube idea though, never thought of that!

I have had success with the ice/power head combo. Just try to get the ice under the foot and slowly pry it off the rock. I actually took a latex free and powder free rubber glove (like tattoo artists use), filled with RO/DI water and froze it. It worked well because the frozen "fingers" allowed me to get into the smaller parts of the rock. Continued to have the power head on the nem while doing the prying. Took some time, but worked for me.

If in a hole, the tube/pipe trick has worked best for me. Blocks light and flow. Piece of small tile placed on top of nem when retracted at night also has worked for me when the pipe didn’t. Nem crawls onto the tile and you remove the tile with nem on it.

So I can't get a good picture of the nem because of where it's at but it has seemed to move a little but not enough for me to get to it. I'm gonna get a 1" elbow and see if this helps out. I would try the ice cube trick but I can't get to the foot, this thing is dug in real well.
