getting rid of nuisance corals in V's tank

V spend an hour or so scraping off xenia or whatever from a rock. They were taking over the tank and it tool almost an hour with a razor blade to get the job done. Rock looks all better and better.

Then we tackled small patches on other rocks. The first was a coral skeleton where the nuisance corals were on a tip of about 1/4th of the skeleton. I grabbed a hammer took it outside and with one precise hit, the coral covered part of the skeleton shatters leaving the non coral part intact. At which point the now tired V's eyes got really big and she said wow. LOL

Just thought I would share.

BTW tank looks all better and better now.

I used to have a 30L with xenia that grew like crazy and also tried scraping and it would always come back then someone told me about a neat trick that worked great . once i started this it eventually went away for good . First let the xenia grow until the base is big enough to grab like the size of a pencil. Then instead of scraping grab the base halfway down with the finger and thumb and start gently pulling it upward will eventually just pop completely off of the rock leaving no residue to grow back kind of like moving a nem . before you know it all xenia was gone and never came back .. it actually took a couple of weeks of repeating the process but it worked
