Getting rid of the "flash" effect

Hey all,
Im asking if there is any way to alter a photo taken with flash to look like it wasn't? Im asking this since the flash overpowers the aquarium lighting and changes the way the picture looks.

If you are talking about a large flare or reflection of the flash probably not. Color and exposure can be changed in post processing. The real trick to photography is to capture detail
you want and blur everything else in a pleasing way.

Depending on how bad the glare is its somewhat possible to remove layers.

But there would have to be enough detail behind the flash reflection to make this worthwhile.

If the reflection is overexposed, there will be no image in layer below.

What im basically asking is if to get that "blue" look back in the photo. The glare isn't really an issue.

I've messed around with post production but I was wondering if anyone has done it before and how they did it.

You might be able to simply shift the white balance to get the blue back in.
But exposure may also need to be changed to match the adjustment.
But it may look unnatural, single point non diffuse lighting from the direction of the camera is going to create odd shadows. Depending on how much light the flash added into the tank.
