When you guys dip with bayer how crazy do you go with making sure the dip is off the coral before you add it to your tank or quarantine? It always makes me nervous that I will somehow transfer enough to the tank to hurt a fish or invert. I’ll be getting a larger colony of Duncan’s in the next few days and it has me especially nervous, as there are so many nooks and crannies for some to hide in...currently I dip in two containers of saltwater, and sometimes a fresh water dip as well (depending on coral) and have not had problems. What lengths do you guys go to make sure n9 bayer makes it into your aquarium?

Supposedly the formula has changed on Bayer and they’re offering a similar but different product and many people had it kill corals. Which Bayer are you using? I find revive is gentle and works for me. After I dip it, I dip in a side of tank water. Even then the coral still smells lemony (?) but it’s worked for me every time.

I have revive and use it regularly. The bayer I have is this. If they changed the formula though it could be an issue. I’ve used this bottle twice, and to be honest, I had a good bit of death, but the shipment was delayed and the corals were not in good shape so I explained it that way. I like revive and similar dips, And think they do great, but I just don’t have a lot of confidence in their ability to kill tough pests.

This is untrue if you get the correct product and look at the active ingrediants

ive used Bayer on EVERY coral that’s gone in any of my tanks for the last 5 years or so, and while some don’t like it (generally I’ve found LPS to hate it the most) I’ve never had an outright death because of it.
that said, I also go super heavy with it to the point it’s milky white and I can’t see anything. Then when I pour it down the toilet I look to see what bugs got left in the bottom.
then everything gets a rinse in fresh SW and then they move down the line to the next dip. personally I go a bit crazy and do bayer, then rinse, then flatworm exit at 10–15x strength, then revive, then another rinse and then into a holding bucket with fresh tank water.

Do you know which one is the good one and which one is the bad one? Many people reported awhile back not being able to find the old formula. I guess not as popular?
