I run GFO (phosphate reducing material) and carbon in 2 TLF Phosban 150 reactors and I've been running each for roughly 2 months and I was wondering how you tell when it's time to replace the media. Thanks in advance!

I measure my PO4 with a Hanna meter, and replace the GFO as needed(usually when it's around .05). In my system that's about every two month's. The GAC, I do on a monthly basis(It's pretty much useless after that).

I do pretty much the same as Downbeach, carbon does not last long so gets replaced much more frequently. I use a Salifert kit to test Phosphates.

I replaced both today, thanks for the advice. Nice to deal with people who know what they're talking about, I work for Premium Aquatics in Indy and some people have no clue... (But, at some point we all had no clue)
