GFO in panty hose

are panty hose made of 88% polyamide and 12% elastane safe to use in a reef tank?

yes it could work, but more of a last resort, I mean, are you going to buy a bunch of pantyhose, or steal your wife's? lol

I think the most convenient, cost efficient way is with the mesh bags from amazon, they have a drawstring, basically like $10 for a 50+ of them. Its much more efficient IMO. something like the below, they come in all different sizes.

Ideally, GFO needs to tumble slightly and will be much more efficient in a $20 reactor.

The real question is... People still wear panty hose??? My vote is for cheap plastic zipper media bags in a place of high flow if you can't fit in a small reactor.

Hose might release some stuff to the water, but they will not dissolve, and if rinsed, are likely fine to use.

But, as folks not, a bag of GFO will get poor flow through it and not be especially effective.
