Is this normal? Its rinse water from a handful of gfo. So much orange water on the first rinse.

It normal to have the the brownish color during rinsing :)

Yes it is. I place mine in my reactor and run RO/DI water through it till it runs clear. Then drain the RO/DI water out and hook it up to my manifold.

Usually high capacity GFO has less "dust". That's what I use.

I have been using a product that I do not have to rinse, which is much easier. AF phosphate minus.

No rinsing in mine. It's clear. Spectrapure GFO has been good to me.

I use BRS gfo. Same thing. I just fill the chamber, turn it on and let the brown water pour out into a bucket. Once it runs clear I stick the tube back in the sump

Thanks guys it just scared me because the previous gfo i used was phosban and iirc I didn't have this orange.

Is it normal that it dropped my alk from 10dkh to 8 dkh in 24 hours?

Strange my ats is still working and growing in my bb system while running gfo.
