GFO question

I’ve recently had a large hair algae breakout in my tank and quickly researched how to fix it. I was thinking about getting the BRS mini GFO reactor so I can reduce phosphates. If so I go with that option, how long am I supposed to run the GFO for because some people said not to run it 24/7.

I think 24/7 is fine. If you stop a reactor for a few hours the water and trapped debris can foul.
Some of us run gfo and gac together.
