So wondering a couple things for my upcoming 55 rebuild...in the long run, is it cheaper to run a GFO reactor (or maybe even GFO/carbon reactor) or use the bags of Chemipure elite to help with phosphate levels? Phosphate reads 0ppm with Red Sea kit. I had some major bryopsis so it was probably tied up in that... rocks are currently cooking and I'll be replacing the substrate, but I figure I should still run GFO and/or carbon after setting back up?
Currently, I have two Koralia Evolution 1150s. I feel like I wasn't getting enough flow through rocks which lead to detritus build up. I had them positioned on the back glass, opposite ends facing towards front glass towards middle. (Make sense?) Flow seems much better now that most of the rockwork is out. Did I just have poor positioning or do I need stronger pumps? Tunze is out of my price range...I was looking at the wp25s but not sure... I would like something I can 'grow' with cuz I'm really hoping that what actually happens is I rebuild as a 90...
(If I can find one that is affordable and in good condition!)
