I run a gfo reactor now and its ready to be cleaned. My question is I thought about runnin half gfo for PO4 half bio pellets for my NO3. Is there any reason this should not work? 125 gal tank 55 gal sump.

That definitely won't work. Bio pellets need to tumble and GFO not so much. Also, you won't be able to change out the GFO without also dumping out the bio pellets. Thus you would have to start the 6 week cycle all over again with the new bio pellets. Bio pellets do not get replaced like GFO and GAC. You simply add to it to it as it gets consumed.

Ok thanks that make since. Then can I put my gfo in a nylon hose and out it in my last baffle. Then use my gfo reactor for the bio pellets. In trying not buy more equipment.
