I got a gallon of gfo I need to regen. I want to regen it in bulk. Would leaving it in a bucket with 1n solution enough to cover it by an inch be enough regen it? The solution will be changed out every 24 hours.

I've not regenerated GFO before (never thought it worth the time).

That said, batch wise should work, but it is not as efficient with the hydroxide as running it slowly through a reactor filled with GFO would be. :)

Under pressure. I've read you shouldn't use a reactor

I wasn't suggesting pressurizing it, but just letting the solution run through it slowly. That's the most efficient way to regenerate things like ion exchange resins.

i do see that most folks have used a batch process like you are doing, so it should be fine. :)

If was to make a diy reactor would I need a 8L of 1n solution for every 500ml of gfo I want to regen? Like I seen on advanced aquarist.
