Anyone here do this to save some $$? Seems like you could risk getting burned, or inhaling some bad stuff, wondering if it's worth the risk.

Many people do it and it can save a lot of money, but you do need to have confidence in your ability to safely handle chemicals, and it takes a fair amount of time.

It is not something that I've chosen to do, however, despite comfort with handling chemicals, due to the time involved.

I have done it and it worked.
But it's only worth the effort if you do this in larger quantity (2 liter up)
