New to GFO, but I’m finding that it is settling and dropping lower in the reactor. I use 2cups of GFO in a BRS dual reactor with carbon.
I put the lower foam about half way down the reactor and about a week later it has lowered almost to the bottom.
2 questions:
1. Is being lower bad for flow? At first I had to tune the ball valve. With it low, I had to open it all the way up.
2. Easy fix? Less GFO (using BRS calculator).

Just wondering. Thanks for any info. Current picture of where it is sitting.

Refresh my memory here - the water is pumped out the bottom or the top? As long as it's not tumbling it's perfectly fine where it is. I have a partition in my reactor - otherwise the GFO gets pushed right to the top.

If you only want to fill half the chamber, and that’s why your placing the foam half way up the chamber, why don’t you just place the top foam half way down the chamber? Your getting the same filtration either way

Thanks for all the help. Took it apart and the top foam had clogged up from small particles. Cleaned and is working like a charm. Thanks again
