Hi all
My tank is about 5 months old and I have a massive hair algae outbreak so I have just set up a duel reactor for Carbon and GFO

In order to get just the top of the GFO tumbling, the flow rate is a very small trickle. I've measured it to about 25 litres per hour. My system is 700 litres so a very slow turnover.

Is this too slow? What flow rate have you achieved without too much tumble?

Any takers? what is your litre per hour flow ? Thanks

Haven't run a reactor in years and cant remember flow rate. You could open the valve a hair more. Its dancing slightly but could wiggle a bit more. I'd personally worry less about flow rate, and more about how the gfo looks in the reactor.

OK thanks! I've upped it a little so it should turn over my tank every 24 hours. I hope this is enough to be effective
